Live Streaming; Behind The Scenes

Production People in conjunction with Nemeton, were delighted to be involved with TG4’s You Tube channel last weekend with over 5 hours Live Streaming coverage of the GAA Scór na nÓg Babhta Ceannais from the TF Royal Hotel, Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Ireland’s newest young talents shone through in a very entertaining competition through eight Irish Traditional Music and Performance categories with a Scór Table Quiz held at a separate venue

Working with TG4 Producer Aoife Ryan and Director Bob Corkey, the schedule began with setting up 6 channels of camera and graphics vision output into a dedicated streaming server parked near to the main stage inside the venue.

Director Bob Corkey commented:

“It’s a challenge directing a show from inside a venue these days, which is more and more common on streaming OB’s, not having the perfect sound and atmospheric isolation of a big OB truck. The high production value comms, sound and camera technicals tend to be the same, but it’s some buzz to hear and feel the crowd support and enthusiasm through the walls and the floor! You can sometimes see your multiscreen wobble with excitement. It’s a great way to keep the TV team’s energy levels topped up!

“We captured a great day’s entertainment and performances for TG4, and no doubt a glimpse at the stars of the future.” “We’ll be watching many of these young talents again on archive in years to come”

The full day’s Scór na nÓg competitions under the categories of Set Dance, Figure Dancing, Solo Singing, Ballad Group, Storytelling, Stage Performance and Instrumental Music can be viewed here:
